Matthew 14: 24-33
 
It is a well known story. The story of how Christ saved Peter from a stormy sea. But as I created this piece there were a few parts of this story that touched me so deeply.
 
First, Christ’s simple invitation to Peter, “come.” To me that means come as you are, with no pre-qualifications, nothing to prove, just come.
 
Second, I was moved by the series of events. Peter starts out confident and sure. Then he takes a step or two and he feels the measure of the winds and the waves. And things become unsteady and he starts to fall. And a loving Savior reaches to him and saves him.
 
Lastly, I loved that Christ reached out “immediately.” There was no hesitation. There was no pause. Christ’s divine help is there in every moment we need.
And because of him, we have no need to fear.
